Following are excerpts of activity reported by the Greene County sheriff’s office:

Sunday, March 16: At 9:49 am a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 600 block of S. 15th St in Grand Junction. At 8:19 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 500 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction. At 9:35 pm a deputy investigated a single vehicle accident on 270th Str near W Ave in Washington Township. Kadin Wolf of Rippey lost control of a 2019 Volkwagen, rolling it into the ditch. Wolf was cited for failure to maintain control and no proof of financial liability. The vehicle was a total loss. At 10:34 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 500 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction. At 10:48 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 500 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction.

Saturday, March 15: At 2:34 am a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with an arrest in the 300 block of N. Cedar St in Jefferson. At 3:19 am a deputy investigated an assault in the 1000 block of E. Railroad St in Grand Junction. At 3:22 am Travis Heinz, 32, of Jefferson was booked into the jail on charges of disorderly conduct, domestic abuse assault- first offense, criminal mischief- fifth degree, and interference with official acts*. At 9:33 pm a deputy investigated an assault in the 200 block of S. Main St in Paton.

Friday, March 14: At 9:42 am a deputy assisted an Iowa State Patrol trooper with an unruly child at the courthouse. At 11:18 am a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 600 block of S. 12th St in Grand Junction. At 11:32 am a deputy removed a dead deer from the roadway on Hwy 30 near S Ave west of Grand Junction. At 6:02 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 600 block of Eagle St in Scranton. At 6:07 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of animal neglect in the 500 block of S. 12th St in Grand Junction.

Thursday, March 13: At 8:49 am a deputy investigated a complaint of trespassers on property in the 2300 block of E Ave in Willow Township. At 9:36 am a deputy investigated an animal complaint in the 500 block of Jay St in Churdan. At 2:24 pm Orlando Love, 48, of Jefferson was booked into jail on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, False ID of law/public service officer, possession of a controlled substance, and malicious prosecution*.

Wednesday, March 12: At 6:07 am a deputy, the sheriff, Paton fire department, Grand Junction fire department, Jefferson fire department, and Greene County Ambulance responded to a rekindle of the residence in the 300 block of State St in Paton.

Tuesday, March 11: At 11:50 am a deputy investigated a hit and run accident in the 1100 block of Main St in Scranton. At 2:09 pm the sheriff and deputies investigated an assault, arson, and a pursuit in the 300 block of State St in Paton. At 3:47 pm the sheriff, deputies, and the Iowa State Patrol arrested Devin Hackfort, 28, of Paton for two counts of assault on an officer, eluding 25 mph and over, arson- second degree, attempted murder, and harassment- first degree*. At 6:33 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a dog running at large in the 700 block of 140th St in Highland Township. A small dog was taken to PAWS.

Monday, March 10: At 11:02 am a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 1200 block of W Ave in Junction Township. At 9:06 pm Chad Louk, 49, of Jefferson was booked into the jail on a charge of violation of a no contact order*.

Sunday, March 9: At 7:31 am a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Hwy 4 near 330th St in Franklin Township. Ashley Clark of Yale was northbound driving a 2017 Dodge Journey when she struck a deer. Damage to her vehicle was estimated at $8,000. At 4:26 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a dog running at large in the 600 block of Hill St in Churdan. At 5:12 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a dog running at large in the 1000 block of Hill St in Churdan.

Saturday, March 8: At 5:58 am a deputy investigated a single vehicle accident on 330th St near Brentwood Ave in Willow Township. Jacob Reiling of Coon Rapids lost control of his 2017 GMC Sierra and entered the ditch. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $12,000. At 4:18 pm Joseph Blackmon, 48, of Jefferson was booked into the jail on charges of theft- fifth degree, unauthorized use of a credit card, and a violation of probation*. At 1:47 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 1000 block of Fitzpatrick St in Churdan.

Friday, March 7: At 6:04 am a deputy investigated an abandoned vehicle on 140th St near K Ave in Highland Township. At 5:24 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 400 block of E. Paton St in Paton.

Thursday, March 6: At 8:52 am a deputy investigated a single-vehicle rollover accident on Hwy 30 and D Ave west of Scranton. Victor Fernandez of Des Moines was westbound on Hwy 30 and lost control of a 2003 Chevrolet Express van, rolling the vehicle into the ditch. Damage to the vehicle exceeded value. At 9:15 am Christopher Reber, 56, of Des Moines was booked into the jail charges of gambling-avoid setoff and fraudulent practices. At 2:40 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in the 1500 block of Neola Ave south of Jefferson. At 4:15 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a scam in the 1800 block of Hwy 30 east of Jefferson. At 5 pm a deputy investigated a dog complaint in the 1000 block of E. Railroad St in Grand Junction.

Wednesday, March 5: At 12:29 am a deputy assisted a motorist stuck in the 1000 block of E. Lincoln Way in Jefferson. From 2 am thru the rest of the day the sheriff and deputies assisted 62 stranded motorists all over the county. At 11:31 am the sheriff, county secondary roads, and Greene County Ambulance responded to a medical call in the 800 block of Eagle St in Scranton. At 3:44 pm the sheriff conducted a welfare check in the 900 block of J Ave in Jackson Township. The subject was brought to Jefferson. At 7:33 pm the sheriff and a deputy conducted a welfare check in the 1000 block of H Ave in Bristol Township. The two occupants were brought to Jefferson. At 8:38 pm the sheriff, Jefferson PD, and Jefferson fire responded to a fire in the 1000 block of W. Lincoln Way in Jefferson.

Tuesday, March 4: At 11:17 am a deputy investigated an assault in the 1000 block of 230th St west of Jefferson. At 12:16 pm a deputy investigated suspicious activity in the 1500 block of 265th St in Grant Township. At 1:56 pm Angel Valdivia, 60, of Carroll was booked into the jail on a charge of possession of a controlled substance*. At 4:28 pm Danyell Freeman 48 of Fort Dodge was booked into the jail on a charge of failure to appear*. At 7:04 pm a deputy assisted with a jack-knifed semi at W. Main and 10th Sts in Grand Junction. At 9:21 pm a deputy removed a tree from the roadway on N. 16th and Railroad Sts in Grand Junction. At 10:28 pm a deputy investigated a downed power line on Hwy 144 near 170th St at Dana. At 11:46 pm a deputy assisted with a jack-knifed semi on Hwy 30 and Grimmel Rd in Jefferson.

Monday, March 3: At 11:22 am Danelle Dalton, 41, of Madrid was booked into the jail on a charge of driving while license barred*. At 8:01 pm a deputy assisted with trying to locate a dog running at large in the 600 block of N. 9th St in Grand Junction. At 10:25 pm Johnathan Bohling, 44, of Hubbard was booked into the jail on charges of driving while license barred and operation without ignition interlock device*.

Sunday, March 2: At 1:59 am a deputy investigated a single-vehicle rollover accident on M Ave near 180th St in Greenbrier Township. Lori Blumberg of Jefferson lost control of a 2014 Ram 1500 and rolled in the ditch. Blumberg was cited for failure to maintain control. Damage to the vehicle exceeded value. At 4:35 pm Debra Coughlon, 70, of Gowrie was booked into the jail on a charge of public intoxication*. At 8:03 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a vicious dog in the 400 block of E. Paton St in Paton. At 9:11 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a dog running at large in the 1000 block of E. Railroad St in Grand Junction.

Saturday, March 1: At 4:04 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a vicious dog complaint in the 1000 block of E. Railroad St in Grand Junction. At 11:01 pm a deputy and Jefferson Fire responded to a reported natural gas leak in the 1100 block of Orchard Ave in Hardin Township.
